| Cafe di Scala: Cafe di Scala is a Des Moines restaurant located in a Century Old Victorian Mansion a few blocks west of Downtown in the Historic Sherman Hill Neighborhood at 641 18th Street. Call us at 515-244-1353 for reservations or private party questions. The Cafe is noted as one of the most romantic restaurant experiences in the Des Moines metro area. The cuisine evolves seasonally, while the wines are chosen carefully to compliment each ingredient. Combining the philosophy of “fresh and local” along with desserts and homemade pastas crafted daily, guests will be greeted with both imagination and tradition. If you are searching for a cozy, European environment to spend an evening, guests may visit Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The cafe is open from 5-10 pm and occasionally hosts Live Jazz Series on Friday evenings.
Exclusive coursed dinners or afternoon luncheons are available when the cafe is not open. With arrangements made in advance, groups can reserve the entire restaurant for a private event.
